Perry Street Hotel approached SPS Solar for a solution to their power bill which was the greatest cost to their commercial operation’s running costs. This was no ordinary commercial solar installation, challenges included a 52-degree roof pitch, heritage-listed building, three stories and a fully booked hotel that was not able to close during the course of the installation.
SPS Solar took care of all engineering and Heritage requirements with the customer and relevant departments and completed the installation without delay or incident.
The 26 kW Grid Connected Solar system was fitted inside a fully scaffolded hotel and included Enphase 270w Micro Inverters and 90 PV Modules as well as Enphase Envoy Monitoring providing consumption and production data and reporting for the customer.
The installation produces an average of 139 kWh per day against an average daily site consumption 263 kWh. Though the consumption would have supported a larger installation, roof space was a limiting factor.

Perry Street Hotel is a boutique hotel and is a heritage listed building, which has been beautifully restored and brought back to life for living in the 21st Century. Clearly, we needed an installation which was sympathetic to the historical building while also considering the steep slope of the roof line.
After looking at a number of quotes, we could look no further than our local supplier Solar Pumping Solutions in Mudgee. Steve, Kim and their team were prompt in their response, competitive in price and highly professional when it came to the management of the project – bearing in mind we had guest’s comfort to consider during the installation.
